IPL 2021: Kashmir pacer Mujtaba Yousuf called for Mumbai Indians trials

Srinagar: 19-year-old pacer Mujtaba Yousuf from Kashmir has been called by the Mumbai Indians for trials for IPL 2021 edition, after his impressive show in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The young left-arm pacer belongs to Bijbehara town of South Kashmir.

The pacer bagged five wickets in four matches in the tournament and as per reports, the latter has already moved to Mumbai to prepare for his trials. Also, it was reported that scouts from various teams were present in Bengaluru to spot talent, and that is when Mujtaba’s name surfaced.

Mujtaba’ association with IPL is not new. He went to the UAE for IPL 2020, as a net bowler for Kolkata Knight Riders.

The IPL 2021 is likely to get on the floor during the desired months of April and May. Various teams are preparing in order to steal the limelight in the fancy T20 tournament.

The IPL 2020 got delayed owing to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic around the world. The venue also got shifted to UAE as India was not in a safe position to conduct the high profile tournament. Talking of Mumbai Indians, the Rohit Sharma-led franchise stole all the limelight again and lifted the IPL trophy for a record fifth time in history.
