Srinagar, Oct 24: Footballers have raised a banner of revolt against Jammu and Kashmir Football Association for its “unprofessional and out-dated” approach towards the development of `the beautiful game’.

On Thursday 150 top footballers and coaches converged in a local hotel to discuss the issues confronting Football in Kashmir.

Entitled “Where Football is …?” the daylong seminar was attended by top footballers and coaches including Mehraj-Ud-Din Wadoo, Ishfaq Ahmad, Hilal Rasool Parray, Sajid Yousuf Dar, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Ajaz Ahmad and Muzamil Mahmood besides others. Wadoo and Ishfaq, who are currently busy with ISL Clubs, were connected through video/audio link.

Addressing the gathering, reputed coach Hilal Rasool questioned people at the helm of affairs for their “unprofessional, out-dated and biased” approach.

Another famous coach Manzoor Ahmad Dar detailed about how the game of Football has been ruined by few people. “Neither are they interested in learning nor they want to leave their positions”, he said.

Other club representatives and coaches gave a detailed briefing about the mismanagement in different district associations. “If these problems do not get solved at the earliest, time will come when no one will be interested in playing football in the state”, said one of the coaches from Bandipora district.

Later the House unanimously resolved that the mismanagement, unprofessionalism, and out-dated approach of Football Association have ruined the game in the state. Members appealed Clubs from Jammu division to come forward and support them in their endeavours to save the game.

The members also resolved to launch an awareness campaign in all districts to redeem the glory of the beautiful game. Separately, a delegation will also meet Governor Satya Pal Malik, Advisor to Governor and other senior officials to apprise them about the problems.
