Srinagar: Militants fired on a police party at Nowgam bypass in Srinagar, leaving two cops dead and another critically injured.
A police official said that militants fired at police party, leaving two policemen dead and another cop injured.
Kashmir police also tweeted that two police injured in the attack succumbed on way to hospital.
“Area has been cordoned off,” the official said adding that massive search is on in the area.
The attack comes two days after a soldier and a militant were killed and another soldier wounded in a gunfight in south Kashmir on Wednesday.
On the same day, a soldier was wounded when militants fired at an Army vehicle on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway in north Kashmir.
