SRINAGAR: A massive snow avalanche occurred in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
An official said that a snow avalanche hit Sonamarg. He said the snow was on the side of the mountain and stopped in Sindh. The official said that no loss of life or property was reported.
Meanwhile, authorities issued a weather advisory in view of an Avalanche warning with a low danger level above 2300 metres over Ganderbal on February 7–8, 2024.
”It is requested to the general public of district Ganderbal to remain cautious and not to venture out in slopes, hilly areas, or avalanche-prone areas till further instructions,” the authorities added.
