Militants attack police party in Srinagar, two cops injured

Srinagar, Aug 14: Suspected militants Friday fired upon police party near Nowgam bypass in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Official sources said that suspected militants fired upon the police party near Nowgam bypass.


Two cops were injured in the attack, who were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab attackers.

The attack comes two days after a soldier and a militant were killed and another soldier wounded in a gunfight in south Kashmir on Wednesday.

On the same day, a soldier was wounded when militants fired at an Army vehicle on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway in north Kashmir. (GNS inputs)
