The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed for traffic following mudslides and landslides in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, according to the police.

A traffic police official provided details, stating that the closure was a result of a mudslide at Mehad, Ramban, and a landslide at Tabela Chamalwass, Banihal.

“People are advised to avoid journey on NH-44 until the weather improves and the road is clear. Please check with the Traffic Control Unit before starting your journey,” he said.

Jammu and Kashmir experienced fresh snowfall and rains on Monday, affecting normal life and bringing down the temperatures in the Himalayan region.
