Jammu, Feb 04: Senior Vice-President of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Sartaj Madani on Sunday made a fervent appeal to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to play a vital role as the future custodians of the state and not to get deterred by the actions of few demagogues.
Addressing a youth convention at PDP head office wherein 200 youth from Reasi joined the party, Madani said youth in Jammu and Kashmir could act as the greater inspiration for the government and the PDP to secure a better future for the state. The PDP vice president said it is the youth of the state who give the political leadership a temper of will, quality of imagination, vigour of emotions, a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity and an appetite of hardwork over love of ease. “The PDP was founded with the idea to secure a prosperous future for the young generation which was crushed by the uncertain era of bloodshed and mayhem,” Madani said in his address.
He added that the PDP founder stood up against all odds to secure a better tomorrow for state’s younger generation. “It is the youth who have guided the PDP to shun the path of comfort and not to substitute words for actions. They taught us to reach into the future and yet never neglect the past. The party every day takes pledge to fight for the betterment of youth and the recent measures taken by the government only vindicate our stand,” Madani said.
The convention was also addressed by Ved Mahajan, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain and Mehboob Iqbal.
PDP general secretary Ved Mahajan while addressing the 200 new youth entrants asked them to work hard ahead for the strengthening of the PDP at the grassroots. “There is no resting for any of us till we redeem our pledge in full and realise the dream of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who strived for the prosperous future of the state,” Mahajan said.
Peerzada Mansoor Hussain while addressing the youth asked them to work earnestly to strengthen the social, economic and political institutions of the state which will ensure justice and fullness of life to every single person of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the convention, more than 200 youth from Reasi joined the PDP through Youth District President Abid Ajaz. Youth Vice President Varinder Sonu, youth general secretary Umar Malik, senior youth leaders Mohsin Qayoom, Parvez Wafa and Dr Imtozaj were present on the occasion.
