Unknown assailants attempt to ‘kidnap, murder’ student in Kupwara

Kupwara, July 31: In a shocking incident unknown persons tried to kidnap and killed a teenager in Kralpora area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The victim Owais Ahmed Khan said that he was forcefully taken away and one man tried to lodge him in a Maruti car with tinted black glasses.
Pervez Ahmed, the father of the victim said he fails to understand how come a car be allowed to use tinted black glasses. He confirmed that some unknown persons tried to kidnap and kill his son in a White Maruti car.

Owais said he had some argument with three persons present in the car. He added that one of the assailants suggested to slit my throat. “After beating me, they hit me on head and threw me out from the car near Riddy area,” Owais said.

Owais according to his father was returning to ‘Pahari’ hostel, after summer vacation. He said Owais is right now undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A police official said that an FIR vide number, 60, under RPC, 364 has been registered and investigation taken up.  Pertinently, in the same district a minor child was brutally murdered by unknown persons a couple of days back.
