SMC conducts sanitation drive in Dalgate, other city centre areas

SRINAGAR, JULY 12: In continuation with its special sanitation drive being conducted across Srinagar city, Srinagar Municipal Corporation today conducted an extensive sanitation drive in Dalgate, Boulevard, Lal Chowk and allied areas.

The drive in these areas was personally monitored by Chief Sanitation Officer Sufi Akbar and Sanitation Officer East Miss Fahmeeda Akhter.

More than seventy sanitary workers were put to task who thoroughly cleaned up these areas and cleared all the identified bad spots.

Besides cleaning and washing of footpaths all the wanted grass was trimmed with the grass cutters by the men on job.

Commissioner SMC has passed on directions to take up the extensive sanitation drives in different areas of the city constantly as per requirement in addition to the routine sanitation.

He further said that entire city has to look neat and clean and there should be no bad spots or garbage seen on road sides.
He also passed on directions to the concerned officials to identify the proper spots where beautification can be taken up on a larger scale.
