Jammu, Jan 01: Commissioner, Secretary Labour & Employment (L&E) Department, Sourabh Bhaghat Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the overall performance of Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) including digitization of subscribers records.

The meeting was attended by Provident Fund Commissioner J&K, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Director Finance Labour & Employment Department Barkat Hussain Kaifi, Additional Secretary Mushtaq Ahmad and other senior officers of the Provident Fund Organization.

The representatives of DDV M/s Marg Software solutions also attended the   meeting.

While reviewing the progress of digitization the chair was apprised that out of 4.50 lakh subscribers of EPFO, 3.5 lakh subscribers have been digitized which include completion of digitization in 18 districts of the state except Jammu, Srinagar, Samba and Pulwama. The digitization in the remaining districts is expected to complete by the end of January, 2019. The data digitization vendor was directed to increase the manpower in the 4 incomplete districts to complete the task in stipulated time and in case of failure it will be penalized.

Briefing about the performance of the enforcement wing of the organization, the Provident Fund Commissioner apprised that Rs. 1.12 crores of defaulter money has been recovered in Kashmir division while Rs. 16 lakh from the defaulters have been recovered in Jammu division.

It was decided in the meeting that the action against the defaulters be expedited so that the benefits of Provident Fund are extended in all the organizations coverable under the Act.

Meanwhile, the Sourabh Bhagat took a District wise review of pendency of PF claims and directed that the divisional head shall personally monitor the settlement of cases strictly on first come first serve basis and complete the pendency by the end of the financial year.

The chair, while appreciating the efforts of Provident Fund Commissioner for completing the digitization, also directed all the officers on the spot to complete the assigned tasks in stipulated period with dedication and honesty for benefit of the subscribers.
