Police foil SBM employees march in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 16: Several contractual employees working under Central sponsored Scheme, Saakshar Bharat Mission (SBM) on Thursday were detained in Srinagar, as police foiled their protest march towards the official residence of Governor N N Vohra in support of their demands including regularization.
Scores of Saakshar Bharat Mission (SBM) employees assembled at Polo view Park in Lal-chowk and started marching towards Raj Bhavan in order to register their protest.
The contingents of police were deployed to stop the march and the protesting employees were asked to disperse, as they continued the march, the police swung into action and detained many of them.
