Till I’m there, no one can divide India: PM

Srinagar, Apr 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday sharply reacted to NC vice president Omar Abdullah’s statement that the post of Prime Minister and President will be brought back to Kashmir.

During a rally in Telengana, Modi said that how come an ally of Congress dared to say something like this.

“Congress ke ek bade sahyogi dal, mahagathbandhan ke sabse tagde sathi, National Conference ne bayan diya hai ki Kashmir mein alag PM hona chahiye, aap mujhe bataiye, Congress ke is sathi party ki ye maang aapko manzoor hai? (A strong ally of Congress and mahagathbandhan, National Conference has said that there should be a separate PM. You tell me, do you agree with their demand?)

Later, the Prime Minister, while reacting to Omar’s statement, wrote on his official Twitter handle: “National Conference wants 2 PMs, 1 in Kashmir & 1 for rest of India. Does Mamata Didi agree? Does U-Turn Babu agree? Does Pawar Sahab agree? Does former PM Deve Gowda Ji agree? Shame on the Opposition! Till Modi is there, no one can divide India!”

To it Omar Abdullah reacted: “It’s not what @JKNC_ wants sir, it’s what the terms of accession guaranteed J&K, it’s what the Constitution of India (the same Constitution you take an oath to uphold) guaranteed J&K. All we ask is what the Constitution gave to J&K.”

Omar had tweeted that he is “thankful” to Modi for giving his “humble speech a national platform.”

“Most grateful to Hon PM Modi Sahib for taking my humble speech & giving it a nation platform. JKNC has always stood for the original terms of accession and will continue to fight for those. For the record we don’t need other parties to endorse our position.”

Earlier, during a rally in Bandipora district, Omar had said that the post of Sadar-e-Riyasat (President) and Wazir-e-Azam (Prime Minister) will be brought back.

“Other states joined the Union of India without any conditions. However Jammu and Kashmir acceded with certain conditions. Those included our own identity, own constitution. At that time we had our own ‘Sadar-e-Riyasat’ and ‘Wazir-e-Azam’. Inshallah, we will bring that back too.”

In another tweet, Omar, while defending his statement said that he doesn’t need other parties support.
