PHE workers protest to demand regularization, release of wages

Srinagar, Dec 24: The daily rated workers of Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) on Monday staged a protest demonstration at press enclave Srinagar demanding regularization and release of their pending wages.
Scores of workers led by Fayaz Ahmad Malik, President PHE casual labour association Kashmir division gathered here at press colony and staged a protest against the government for not releasing their pending wages.
The protesters were raising slogans against the government and holding placards which read “implement job policy”, “pending wages release karo.”
The protesting workers demand the release of their long pending wages and regularization of their services.
“We have been working for Public health engineering department (PHE) and our wages are pending since last 2 years,” said one of the protesting labourer, Riyaz Ahmad.
“Due to non-release of salary we are unable to bear the expenses of daily needs of our families,” they added.
