‘Personal rapport with co-stars matters’

Whether it is Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt manages to look perfect with all the actors she has been paired with on-screen.

Now as fans eagerly await to see her with Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Bramhastra’ and with superstar Salman Khan in ‘Inshallah’, the actress says sharing a camaraderie with a co-star impacts performance.

“It makes a huge difference in my performance depending on the rapport with my co-actor. It brings so much to the scene when you know the co-actor is giving you the room to flourish your performance…when you share a chemistry and a certain warmth with your actor.

The scene comes out to be way more organic,” Alia said in an interview. In her forthcoming film ‘Kalank’, Alia has shared screen space with Varun and Aditya Roy Kapur.

“When it comes to ‘Kalank’, since all of us played very complex characters, we were engrossed in our own journeys and at the same time were supportive of each other,” added the actress, who said she has no hangover of the success scored by her last release ‘Gully Boy’.

Does that success add confidence to her as an actor? “I am very responsive to all the love and appreciation that I have got for ‘Gully Boy’ because it is a result of our hard work.

So when I say ‘thank you’, I do not take it as a compliment as in ‘Yeah, I am a great actor and I deserve all this’. I rather think about the fact that how our hard work is getting appreciation. “But it is not good to be too confident, that I would carry it while promoting the next film, thinking people will like all my films. Having said that, I am confident about ‘Kalank’ because we put all our efforts to create a world, narrate an intense story of love,” she added.

Alia, 26, said she is never too attached to her success or criticism. “That is the nature of the business. If I fail, I would rather learn from the mistake and move on… that’s the way it works,” the ‘Raazi’ star said. In ‘Kalank’, Alia plays Roop, a character she says is her most complex one so far. “She is a girl with a lot of values of modern day. She may not be doing all the right things in life but her intention is not bad. She is emotional.” she said.

How to remove annoying advertisements from Xiaomi phones running MIUI 10

The Kashmir Monitor

Published

on

Xiaomi is known for its budget smartphones that offer high specifications at attractive prices but it is also known for its advertisement and push notifications that come along with it. The pre-loaded apps in the phone not only show advertisements while running, but also send promotional messages via notifications.

Under the settings of each of these apps, the “recommendations” are turned on, which is basically Xiaomi’s name for advertisement. Fortunately, Xiaomi has kept the option to turn off these recommendations but the process is quite frustrating as there is not a master switch to turn all of it in an instant.

You have to go to each of the apps showing “recommendations” and turn them off one by one. Follow this guide to turn off these push notifications and in-app advertisement in the latest MIUI 10 skin from Xioami.

Turn off msa and personalised ads in MIUI 10

Before starting to disable the advertisement in the MIUI 10, first of all, connect your phone to the internet and go to Settings > Additional Settings > Authorization & revocation. Now turn off the “msa“. You will have to wait for 10 seconds before you can tap Revoke.

The revoke option does not turn off easily. When we tried to turn it off, the system showed an error at least four-five times but it was turned off eventually. Now go back and tap on Privacy (Settings > Additional Settings > Privacy) and go to “Ad services” and turn this off. Now you need to go to each system app, find
“recommendations” and turn them off.

Disable personalised ads in Xiaomi devices running MIUI 10.

Google Stadia controllers won’t be Bluetooth compatible at launch

Google vice president and general manager Phil Harrison speaks during a Google keynote address announcing a new video gaming streaming service named Stadia that attempts to capitalize on the company’s cloud technology and global network of data centers, at the Gaming Developers Conference in San Francisco, California, U.S., March 19, 2019.

Google Stadia controllers would not work with Bluetooth headsets at launch, rather they would connect directly to the Stadia server using Wi-Fi to help with the problem of lag while gaming.

“The Stadia controller comes with a headphone jack for wired audio, but won’t support Bluetooth audio at launch in November. If you’re playing on the computer or a Pixel phone you can connect the BT headset to it directly and use it in Stadia,” Andrey Doronichev, Stadia Product Director, wrote on social news site Reddit AMA.

For Bluetooth connectivity, the Stadia product page says, “Product contains Bluetooth Classic radio. No Bluetooth Classic functionality is enabled at this time.

Bluetooth Classic functionality may be implemented at a later date.”

Google has confirmed that Stadia would be available from November in 14 countries, including the US, the UK, and Canada. There’s no confirmation yet about when other areas and territories will get it.

Google Stadia is Google’s vision of the future of gaming — a cloud-based service available on a range of devices, not just high-end gaming PCs and consoles.

Making Golmaal films is my duty: Rohit Shetty

The Kashmir Monitor

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty feels that his successful franchise ‘Golmaal’ has become a household brand, so much so that it has become his duty to make a new film in the series every now and then.

“I feel making ‘Golmaal’ has now become my duty. It’s not my product anymore. It has become a household brand, and I have to just make a new ‘Golmaal’ film every now and then, and offer it to the audience.

The characters of ‘Golmaal’ are simple and happy. They don’t question and analyse everything. Feeling happy is good for health, and ‘Golmaal’ lets the audience do that,” said Rohit, at an interaction with the press at a book launch in Mumbai.

The first ‘Golmaal’ film released in 2006 and was declare a hit, and till date there have been four films in the franchise, over 13 years.

Rohit is right now busy filming the Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Sooryanvanshi’. “There is still a lot of time for ‘Sooryavanshi’ to release. It is scheduled for next year,” he said.

Rohit said owing to the needless running-around of modern life, simplicity and peace of mind is missing among us.
