Jammu, Feb 13: Various politicians on Wednesday expressed their heartfelt condolences on the demise of Grand Mufti Bashir-ud-Din, who passed away on Tuesday morning.
Senior National conference leader and former MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmed in his condolence message expressed heartfelt condolences with the Mufti family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) also expressed profound grief over the sad demise of prominent broadcaster Syed Amjid Hussain Qazmi and conveyed his deepest condolences to bereaved family.
He also expressed deep shock over the sudden death of Arshid Hussain nephew.
G. A. Mir while offering deepest condolences to bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to departed souls.
“Late Qazmi was a noble person and his demise is really a great loss, which cannot be replaced by anything,” Mir added and expressed solidarity with bereaved family.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader, Sartaj Madni also expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Grand Mufti, Mufti Bashir-ud-din Farouqi, who died on Tuesday morning.
Madni in a statement said issued here said, “I am deeply pained over the demise of Grand Mufti.”
He added, “Moutul-Aalim Moutul-Aalam (Death of a religious scholar is tantamount to death of the world)” and highlighted his contribution in the field of Islamic Fiqah.
Senior People’s Conference (PC) leader and candidate for Baramulla Parliament Constituency, Raja Aijaz Ali, condoled the demise of Mufti Bashir-u-Din Ahmad, the Grand Mufti of Jammu & Kashmir.
Expressing profound grief and sorrow over the death of Mufti Bashir-u-Din Ahmad, Raja Aijaz Ali said Mufti Bashir will be remembered as a man of immense learning and knowledge who contributed tremendously towards peace and harmony in J&K.
Jammu & Kashmir Awami National Conference President Begum Khalida Shah and party’s Sr. Vice President Muzaffar Shah have expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir Bashiruddin Ahmad.
In a statement issued here, Begum Khalida Shah and Muzaffar Shah expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family especially the Deputy Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam.
They prayed for forbearance to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
Muzaffar Shah termed the demise of Mufti Bashir-ud-din Ahmad as a personal loss. “We are equally grieved at this hour and mourn the loss of a great Islamic scholar. My prayers and good thoughts with Nasir-ul-Islam Sahib,” he said.
In this connection, a condolence meet and Fateha prayers were held at JKANC headquarters here in which the participants prayed for highest standards in Jannat-ul-Firdous for the departed soul.
