Srinagar, June 20: Former Minister and President Democratic Party (Nationalist) Ghulam Hasan Mir Wednesday warned Bhartiya Janata Party of severe repercussions in case New Delhi tampers with special status of Jammu and Kashmir in absence of an elected government in the state.

“Governor Rule is compulsion and it was unavoidable as there was great resentment against the PDP-BJP government,” Mir said.

He said that Government of India should not take any stand that will go against the interest of people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Article 370, Article 35A and other provision should be retained and preserved. Any tampering with them will have serious repercussions,” Mir said and appealed Governor to redress problems of people on fast track basis.
