Srinagar, Jan 03: The Srinagar-Jammu Highway was Thursday reopened for traffic after remaining closed for one day due to snowfall.
“The Jammu-Srinagar highway reopened for vehicular traffic today and vehicles were allowed from Jammu to Srinagar but not the other way to ensure the safety of travellers,” a spokesman of the traffic department said.
He said over 500 vehicles stranded at different places in Jammu and Udhampur on have been cleared after the road reopened.
“The men and machines of BRO worked round-the-clock and cleared the blockade on the 300-km-long highway,” the traffic department spokesman said.
