J&K U-19 team registers second win in Vinoo Mankad Trophy

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir U-19 team defeated Goa team by 40 runs in the ongoing Vinoo Mankad Trophy Under 19 One Day Limited Overs Zonal League (2018-19) here at Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground, Jaipur.

Earlier Jammu and Kashmir won the toss and chose to set target for Goa team. While batting first Jammu and Kashmir team was all-out on 221 runs in 48.5 overs.

For Jammu and Kashmir Kanhiya Wadhawan played a brilliant 64 runs knock while as Javid Ahmad (Jadu) added second highest 27 runs.

Opener batsman Qamran Iqbal couldn’t score much and scored 18 runs only. Jiyad Magray who scored ton in last match against Kerala also couldn’t score much runs and was out on 17 runs Vibrant Sharma also scored 17 runs.

For Goa Ruthvik Naik took 3, Krishna Thakur and Rahul Mehta took 2 Wickets each.

In reply Goa team fail to chase the target and were bundled out on 182 runs and remained short by 40 runs. For Goa Alam Khan scored 63 runs Gauresh Bharat Kambli made 53 runs, it was a Brilliant bowling show by J&K bowlers during the match and all the bowlers of J&K bowled in right line and length which took J&K to home.

It was the second consecutive win for J&K U-19 team in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy and in both the matches the combination of players was good. For Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Samad Tahzeem Tak took 2 wickets each while as Javid (Jadu) and Govind Sharma took 1 wicket each. Jammu and Kashmir team won the match by 40 runs.

Head coach of the team Huvaid Hameed said that I am very happy and all the plyers are playing good cricket and with the win against Kerala team has boosted the moral of our players and that is why our boys shows good performance in today’s match and I hope that in coming matches our boys will play good cricket and the results will be in our favour.
