JK has shown commendable progress IN Ease of Doing Business: Saddam

Srinagar, Feb 27: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K State Council held its Annual Session on Tuesday in Jammu wherein Saddam Zaroo was elected Chairman of the State Council for the year 2018-19.
Saddam Zaroo, Chairman CII J&K State Council & Managing Director of Khazir Sons & Royal Khazir Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd is a youngest Chairman CII has from J&K and is young face of the hospitality from Kashmir.
He is also the member of Government of Jammu and Kashmir Handicraft Quality Control Council and also in Board of Governor in SKICC.
On Tuesday, CII J&K State Council also organized its Annual session on “Ease of Doing Business” in J&K at Hotel Ramada.
The deliberations opened up with ideas for bringing business –friendly environment in the State.
On the occasion, Saddam Zaroo said that over the last three years, states across India have made vigorous efforts to implement reforms and streamline processes in order to make their states investor friendly and J&K is not an exception.
“CII compliments the government for the commendable progress that J&K has made in the last few months,” said Zaroo, Chairman CII J&K State Council.
Zaroo has been a part of Kashmir hotel and restaurant owners federation (KHAROF).
He has a great participation in nourishing the Young Entrepreneurs of the state.
Furthermore, he has put forward the forthcoming initiatives to be taken by the CII in J&K during this year.
Former Chairman Rahul Sahai, on the occasion said that J&K offers boundless investment opportunities.
“The State has rich reserves of water, agro, forests, herbal and mineral resources that provide immense potential to increase the base of Industrial Sector which will give stimulus to the economy of the State,” Sahai said.
He also mentioned that with the growing number of small and medium enterprises in the region, Ease of Doing Business plays a crucial role in the region’s economic growth.
It goes without saying that when systems, processes, rules and regulations are business-friendly, setting up businesses is made easier for not just big companies but also smaller ones that have less capital and resources at their disposal.
Addressing the gathering, Sachit Jain, Deputy Chairman, CII Northern Region & Vice- Chairman & Managing Director Vardhaman Special Steels Pvt. Ltd said that the improvement in industrialization sector is bound to provide opening for employment of the youth in the State.
He applauded the joint efforts taken up by the government and the other stakeholders to improve industrial culture and atmosphere in the State so that bright opportunities of employment are available. He also mentioned that CII acts as a platform for the MSMEs to connect with Government, large Industrialists which can provide them mentorship and other necessary support for their growth.
Chander Parkash Ganga, Minister for Industries and Commerce who was the Chief Guest complimented CII for its continuous efforts and insights in improving the industrial environment in the state through policy advocacy.
He mentioned that J&K has made vigorous efforts to implement reforms and streamline processes in order to make the State Investor friendly. Furthermore, he talked about the need for the engagement and cooperation of industrialist in eradicating menace of corruption from the system.
Additionally, he responded to the queries regarding infrastructure in Industrial estates and assure to establish equipped system in J&K for the Industries.
Mushtaq Ahmad, CEO Wizkid consultancy discussed about the potential resides in the Service Industry and highlighted the need to look and foster the service sector in J&K at the session.
The Session was well attended by people from Industry, Government Departments, Academics, and Start- Up companies and media persons of J&K.
