NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 17- Governor Satya Pal Malik inaugurated a newly built J K Bazar, a retail showroom of authentic Jammu Kashmir Handicrafts/ Handlooms/Silk/ Agro based products and Restaurant serving Authentic Kashmiri Cuisine at J&K House, 5-Prithvi Raj Road, New Delhi here today.
Sh. B. R. Sharma, Secretary, Department of Border Management ,Ministry of Home Affairs, GOI, Sh. A. K. Mehta Financial Commissioner-J&K Govt. Sh. Naveen Choudhary, Principal Secretary-Industries and Commerce, Sh.Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, Sh. Shantmanu, Development Commissioner Handicrafts, GOI and other senior dignitaries’ were present on the occasion.
The newly constructed State of Art Showroom is for promoting J&K specific products of Handicrafts and Authentic cuisine. The project has been completed over a short period of time. The newly inaugurated Showroom shall cater to the people who cherish the Kashmiri handicraft and relish the traditional Kashmiri food which is now available in the heart of Delhi.
Governor visited the entire showroom and appreciated the work done which is a shopper’s stop for both silk and wool ranging from the simple to the most intricate patterns handed down the generations. He further said that Kashmir handicrafts are prized everywhere for their exquisite craftsmanship. He also added that Kashmir not only offers mesmerizing locations but also a wide range of lip smacking and exotic delicacies especially the essence of kashmiri influence which is found in the Wazwan- a meal traditionally consisting of 36 courses.
Other handicraft products in the showroom which are on display include-Paper Machie items, carved walnut wood items, Pashmina Shawls and kashmiri embroidery Sarees.
Div Com discusses DPR preparation for Srinagar-B’la-Uri four-lane road
Srinagar, Nov 05: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to discuss the preparation for the formulation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for development of Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri four-lane road.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr G.N Itoo; Additional Commissioner, Kashmir, TassaduqHussain Mir; ADC Baramulla; Chief Engineer, Beacon; SE (Civil), Commander, 760, BRTF and other concerned officials.
Calling the project a ‘prestigious one’, the Div Com instructed the concerned officers to take all technicalities in account while formulating the DPR. Various bottlenecks and constraints in this regard were also discussed during the meeting.
On the occasion, Div Com directed Chief Engineer, Beacon to explore possibilities of re-alignment of Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri road at four highly built-up spots in consultation with Baramulla District Administration. He also asked the officials to assess the feasibility of construction of bye-pass at Pattan and Baramulla and a flyover at Sangrama.
Div Com directed DC Baramulla to constitute teams for joint survey which will include representatives from the concerned agencies.
DC Baramulla was also directed to conduct weekly review meetings and furnish action taken report to be submitted to Div Com office on weekly basis.
He also directed the concerned officials to ensure that the consultancy engaged for the projects is made available at an earliest. CE Beacon was also asked to place indent of the road before DC Baramulla for the purpose of land acquisition.
40 thousand quintal firewood to be supply to mosques
Srinagar, Nov 05The Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir took a review of firewood and winter stocking at P.C. Depot Srinagar.
He was accompanied by Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle, Divisional Forest Officer, Urban Forestry Division and Range Officers.
He was informed that forty thousand quintals of firewood have been stocked for supply to Mosques in Srinagar District.
The CCF directed the concerned officials to start the supply of firewood immediately to 1350 mosques already registered with the department for heating purpose for the coming winter season.
He Directed the concerned to complete the distribution process of firewood well in time as per the targets.
JKPSC declares results of KAS Mains-2018
Srinagar, Nov 05: Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission today declared results of Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination (2018) held by the Commission from July 22 to July 29, 2019.
The Commission today issued a notification having list of candidates who have qualified for Personality Test for which the dates shall be notified separately.
The Personality Test of successful candidates shall be held in the office of the Commission at Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. The e-summon letter of Personality Test of candidates being called for interview can be downloaded from the Commission’s website (http://www.jkpsc.nic.in) from November 20, 2019.
