G20: Business as usual in Srinagar

Srinagar: It is business as usual for almost all parts of the Kashmir valley. Life carried on in Srinagar with precise planning by the administration. Kashmir is experiencing a period of peace and stability, allowing residents to go about their daily activities with a sense of security. Business establishments, government offices are open and functioning and most of the educational carried on with daily work.

Tourists thronged to various destinations across Kashmir valley and most of the eateries in and around the City Centre Lal Chowk and Polo View were full to capacity at lunch time.
Locals as well as visitors continued to throng to the newly done up Jhelum River Front at Raj Bagh.

People in Kashmir engaged in their regular routines, including work, education, and recreational activities. Markets were bustling with shoppers, and public transportation is operational, facilitating the movement of individuals within and between different areas of the valley.Cultural events, and sports activities are also taking place.

The efforts of the government and local administration, along with the support of the community and various civil society groups have played a significant role in preparing Srinagar for the G-20 event.

This is for the first time in more than three decades that Kashmir is hosting an international event. Earlier in the day various delegates from G-20 countries arrived in Srinagar and checked into their hotels around the Dal Lake.
