DHSK constitutes rapid response teams to tackle any disease outbreak

SRINAGAR, June 30: of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) has constituted rapid response teams to tackle any disease outbreak in view of the flood declaration in Kashmir valley.

DHSK has constituted divisional & district level rapid response teams which shall tackle any disease outbreak, particularly in inundated or water logged areas, said a statement.

ìThese areas might have every possibility of outbreak of water borne diseases and in such case the department is geared up with Disease Outbreak preparedness.î

The general public is requested to contact Divisional & District Rapid response Teams constituted under Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) Unit.

ìThis measure is to strengthen already placed preventive & contingency measures at District & Block levels across Kashmir Valley,î said Director General Health Services Dr Saleem ur Rehman.

He said the public is advised to drink boiled water and take immense care of their hygiene along with proper hand washing.

He also said that the department has already issued health advisory via print, electronic & online media.

The department has also made functional District & Divisional Flood Health Care Facilitiation Help line numbers which have been shared via various media channels earlier today, he said.
