DGP sanctions scholarship of Rs 5.38 lakh to 58 wards of slain police personnel

Jammu, Dec 29: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh IPS Saturday sanctioned Rs 5,38,200 in favour of 58 wards of deceased police personnel who have laid down their lives in militancy related incidents in the State as scholarship out of Central Police Education Fund.
DGP has granted scholarship in favour of 58 wards of police personnel of different classes killed during the academic session 2017-18. The scholarship of Rs.5.38 lakh has been granted out of Central Police Education Fund.
Besides, Rs.15,000 has been granted to one ward who is pursuing M.Phil and Rs.10,000 each have been granted in favour of 33 wards pursuing graduation. Rs. 12,000 each have been granted 10 wards pursuing post graduation. Rs.6,000 each have been granted in favour of 11 wards who are studying in different middle and secondary classes. Rs.2400 each has been granted in favour of three wards who are studying in primary class.
Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships and rewards from time to time for wards of martyred and serving Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.
