DGP grants scholarship to wards of police personnel

Srinagar, Sep 28: With an aim to boost the morale of wards of police personnel, retired and serving Police personnel, Police Headquarters J&K sanctions meritorious scholarships under different welfare schemes.

Continuing with their efforts to promote the meritorious wards of Police personnel, the Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over rupees 3.90 lakh in favour of sixty two wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the Annual examination of Class 12th during the Academic Session 2018-19 out of Central Police Welfare Fund.

 Rupees 7200/- each has been sanctioned in favour of fifteen students who have secured more than 90% marks while forty seven students who have secured 80% and above marks has been given rupees 6000/- each. Out of these sixty two students twenty seven are girls.

Police Headquarters (PHQ) under different heads is annually sanctioning meritorious scholarship for police wards, qualifying different examinations with above eighty percent marks so as to promote and inculcate the spirit of competitiveness among them.

Police Headquarters has sanctioned over rupees 81,08,500/- out of Central Police Education Fund to the wards of serving police personnel, wards of martyrs and SPOs during the current year for qualifying different examinations.
