Bayern fan to ‘fund’ Ronaldo’s move to Munich?

London :Markus Schon, a businessman, is exploring an unconventional opportunity that could potentially lead to financing Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Bayern Munich this summer.
After mutually parting ways with Manchester United, Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr during the season and has since scored 13 goals for his new club, who currently hold the second position in the Saudi Pro League. However, rumors of a return to Europe continue to surround the seasoned player.
Bayern Munich was previously linked with a potential move for Ronaldo before he joined Al-Nassr, but CEO Oliver Kahn dismissed the possibility at the time. However, a new opportunity has now emerged for the German title contenders.
According to reports, Schon expressed his willingness to pay a transfer fee or loan fee higher than the basic amount, provided his company is acknowledged as a facilitator of the deal. He also mentioned the expectation of a share in the jersey proceeds in the case of a permanent transfer, which would help limit the financial risk.
Schon reportedly emailed his proposal directly to Kahn. However, for any agreement to materialize, Ronaldo would need to accept a reduction in his current Al-Nassr contract. The Portuguese star’s deal in Saudi Arabia is reportedly worth £173 million per year, making him the highest-paid player in the world. His contract with Al-Nassr extends until 2025.
Schon’s proposal would require a change of heart from Kahn to be successful. In November, the club’s chief, a former goalkeeper for Bayern and Germany, stated that the team’s objectives did not align with a move for the now 38-year-old forward.
“We have already addressed this,” said Kahn in an interview with Sky Germany. “We have a clear idea, a clear philosophy of how our squad should be assembled. We all have great respect for him, there’s no doubt about it. We all admire Cristiano Ronaldo, but it’s something that doesn’t fit into our plans.”
