Amarnath Shrine Board finalizes arrangements for advance online booking of heli tickets

JAMMU, APRIL 12: In a Yatra Review Meeting held here today, Umang Narula, Chief Executive Officer of Amarnathji Shrine Board informed Governor N.N. Vohra, Chairman of the Board, that arrangements for online booking of helicopter tickets in collaboration with the helioperators for the Amarnathji Yatra commencing on 28th June 2018, had been finalised.
These arrangements have been finalized with UTAir India Pvt. Ltd. and Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd. for the Neelgrath-Panjtarni-Neelgrath sector and with Himalayan Heli Services Pvt. Ltd. for the Pahalgam-Panjtarni-Pahalgam sector, for providing helicopter services for Amarnathji Yatra 2018.
CEO informed that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for online booking of heli tickets have been formulated within the parameters of Air Traffic Services Regulations. The advance online booking for helicopter tickets will commence on 27th April 2018, from 10:00 AM onwards, through the websites of the respective heli-operators.
The links of the heli- service operators to book heli tickets shall be made available on the official website of Shrine Board http://www.shriamarnathjishrine.com. Simultaneously, advance booking through agents appointed by heli-operators and Tour and Travel Associations will also commence on 27th April 2018. The per passenger one way heli- fare for Yatra 2018 has been fixed at Rs. 1,600/- (inclusive of all taxes) for the Neelgrath-Panjtarni-Neelgrath and Rs. 2,751/- (inclusive of all taxes) for the Pahalgam-Panjtarni-Pahalgam sectors.
CEO stated that Yatris who wish to avail Heli services are not required to seek advance Registration through the designated Bank Branches as their applications for purchasing heli tickets contain the required information and the same shall be treated as Yatra Permits for undertaking the pilgrimage. However, no such Yatri shall be allowed to board the helicopter unless he/ she produces a valid Compulsory Health Certificate issued by an authorized Doctor / Institution.
CEO advised the heli-operators to ensure that they comply strictly with all the safety requirements and follow ethical trade practices in accordance with the Safety Regulations prescribed by DGCA/ Air Traffic Controller and the Terms & Conditions of their Agreements with the Shrine Board.

Give us decisive mandate to end miseries: Imran Ansari

Srinagar, Mar 17: Calling for a decisive mandate in the forthcoming elections, the Peoples Conference (PC) General Secretary Imran Reza Ansari Sunday said the PC, with the support of people, is fast emerging as a strong alterative in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting to welcome Shabir Gulabagi led prominent said that there are no takers for the politics of deceit, hypocrisy and blackmail practiced by the traditional political parties in the state. “PC belongs to everyone, whosoever aspires for changing the political system of corruption and nepotism. Sufferings and miseries of our people will end only through truth and reconciliation. This is what we are aspiring for. We want our people to be politically conscious, economically stable and socially empowered,” he said.
He appealed people to vote decisively in the forthcoming elections in favor of PC candidates. “Your support is a must for us to fulfill the agenda of change,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, the party’s candidate for Srinagar Parliamentary constituency, Irfan Reza Ansari said: “Our leader Sajad Saheb is the voice for alternate political discourse, aiming to empower the politically & economically disempowered. We have to strengthen his hands in order to pull the state out of every problem that it has been forced into.”
Also present on the occasion was Political Secretary to PC Chairman Shahid Rashid.

Governor inaugurates 31st Police Public Mela

JAMMU, MARCH 17: Governor Satya Pal Malik inaugurated the 31st Jammu & Kashmir Police Public Mela at Police Sports Stadium, Gulshan Ground, here today. Dr. Rubinder Kour, Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives Welfare Association, lady members of the Association, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Kewal Kumar Sharma, K Skandan Advisors to the Governor, and Dilbag Singh , Director General of Police, were among those present on the occasion.
Governor lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the commencement of the Police-Public Mela. He paid floral tributes to the Jawans and Officers of J&K Police who laid down their lives while performing their duties.
Governor, along with other dignitaries, went around the stalls put up in the Mela and showed keen interest in the exhibited goods. He interacted with the stall holders and appreciated the quality of products put on display.
Governor was briefed by Dr. Rubinder Kour about the aims and objectives of the Mela and about the activities of the Organization which are aimed at securing the welfare of police personnel and their families, with special attention to widows and orphans.
Governor was presented memento by Dr. Rubinder Kour, Chairperson PWWA.
A very large number of people from all walks of life attended the Mela and showed great enthusiasm in purchasing goods on sale, eating food of various kind which was being served at the Mela.
Students from J&K Police Public Schools and artists from various cultural organisations presented scintillating cultural items on the occasion.
Among others, the inaugural function was attended by a sizeable number of senior serving and retired civil and police officers.

MSME exhibition concludes at Kashmir Haat

SRINAGAR, MARCH 17: The 3-day Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Exhibition organized by MSME DI Srinagar concluded at Kashmir Haat on Sunday
Numerous products of many unit holders from various industrial estates were on display at 40 different stalls displaying food, textile, glass-based, construction based products.
Around 500 students from various Polytechnic Institutes, people associated with industry and potential buyers turned up for the exhibition.
The students got the know-how and hands-on experience of the different industrial products.
The officers of the department briefed them about the aim and objective of the exhibition.
Director Industries Mahmood Ahmad Shah assured that such events would be more frequent and vibrant for the promotion of local industrial units.
Director Industries further said that the exhibition would promote local products and also encourage local unitholders and investors.
“Such exhibitions bring to fore the local talent who can exhibit and promote their products. The young potential entrepreneurs can also be encouraged to be creative and set up their own units for livelihood instead of hankering after government jobs,” said Mahmood Shah.
One the sidelines of the concluding function, a discussion was also held with unitholders who requested for the promotion of their products in different markets.
Director Industries assured them that more such exhibitions would be held in coming days and other departments including the department of handicraft and handlooms will also be taken on board for such marketing and promotional events.
Assistant Director of MSME Development, Saheel Alaqband said this was the exclusive MSME Exhibition organized after a long time.
He said such they would organise more such like events in the future.
Director of Handicrafts, Director of Handloom, Director Horticulture along with their staff besides the officers from KVIB, DIC, SIDCO, SICOP also visited the exhibition.
In the end, the unit holders also thanked the department for holding such an exhibition, which promoted their products.
