Amarnath Shrine Board finalizes arrangements for advance online booking of heli tickets

JAMMU, APRIL 12: In a Yatra Review Meeting held here today, Umang Narula, Chief Executive Officer of Amarnathji Shrine Board informed Governor N.N. Vohra, Chairman of the Board, that arrangements for online booking of helicopter tickets in collaboration with the helioperators for the Amarnathji Yatra commencing on 28th June 2018, had been finalised.
These arrangements have been finalized with UTAir India Pvt. Ltd. and Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd. for the Neelgrath-Panjtarni-Neelgrath sector and with Himalayan Heli Services Pvt. Ltd. for the Pahalgam-Panjtarni-Pahalgam sector, for providing helicopter services for Amarnathji Yatra 2018.
CEO informed that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for online booking of heli tickets have been formulated within the parameters of Air Traffic Services Regulations. The advance online booking for helicopter tickets will commence on 27th April 2018, from 10:00 AM onwards, through the websites of the respective heli-operators.
The links of the heli- service operators to book heli tickets shall be made available on the official website of Shrine Board http://www.shriamarnathjishrine.com. Simultaneously, advance booking through agents appointed by heli-operators and Tour and Travel Associations will also commence on 27th April 2018. The per passenger one way heli- fare for Yatra 2018 has been fixed at Rs. 1,600/- (inclusive of all taxes) for the Neelgrath-Panjtarni-Neelgrath and Rs. 2,751/- (inclusive of all taxes) for the Pahalgam-Panjtarni-Pahalgam sectors.
CEO stated that Yatris who wish to avail Heli services are not required to seek advance Registration through the designated Bank Branches as their applications for purchasing heli tickets contain the required information and the same shall be treated as Yatra Permits for undertaking the pilgrimage. However, no such Yatri shall be allowed to board the helicopter unless he/ she produces a valid Compulsory Health Certificate issued by an authorized Doctor / Institution.
CEO advised the heli-operators to ensure that they comply strictly with all the safety requirements and follow ethical trade practices in accordance with the Safety Regulations prescribed by DGCA/ Air Traffic Controller and the Terms & Conditions of their Agreements with the Shrine Board.

KCSDS alleges delimitation Sangh Parivar’s agenda

Srinagar, June 14: Prominent civil society group, Kashmir Center for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS) on Thursday alleged that “delimitation of assembly constituencies was the new agenda floated by Sangh Parivar and its drooling blind followers.”
In a statement issued here, KCSDS spokesperson warned government against any such misadventure as it is goaded on to act by them against all principles of justice in a democracy.
“Aggressive TV debates, columns, opinions and views have started appearing in print and social media providing the new government in effect to turn the numerical majority into a political minority in Jammu and Kashmir,” a statement issue here said.
“Imaginary grounds, bizarre justifications, outlandish claims are peddled to transplant brute majoritarianism in Kashmir to further politically disempower the Muslim majority.” “And yet the government intriguingly comes up with the allegation that it is Kashmiri political parties who are raking up the issue to deceive people.”
The KCSDS spokesperson said that the “delimitation of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly seats will end the partisanship that favors Kashmir. “We want to tell this Government that every day new narratives are manufactured in New Delhi through TV debates and social and print media to dislodge, disempower and denigrate Kashmiris to obfuscate their struggle for their rights,” KCSDS spokesperson said, adding “We are not fond of manufacturing false narratives. We have truth on our side for which we are struggling. We are compelled to respond to the falsehoods being perpetrated every day. We want to live in just peace which could dawn only by restoring people’s rights and not by snatching then under one pretext or the other.”

World Blood Donor Day: Dulloo inaugurates mega blood donation camp at Srinagar

Srinagar, June 14: To commemorate the ‘World Blood Donor Day’, Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department Atal Dulloo inaugurated a mega blood donation camp here F riday.
The camp was organized by Jammu and Kashmir State AIDS Control Society at Government Medical College, Srinagar in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, GMC, Srinagar.
The event was aimed to raise awareness of safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood.
While appreciating the organizers of the camp, Dulloo said that such initiatives help in saving thousands of lives when several people suffer due to lack of availability of blood.
He also appealed the youth to generously donate blood for saving the precious lives.
During the camp, students from Medical College, Islamia College and Amar Singh College Srinagar also donated the blood.
Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir State AIDS Control Society is celebrating the Day as a month-long activity during which seminars, symposiums, poster competitions will be held across all the educational institutions to create awareness among the masses regarding voluntary blood donation.

PGRP program concludes

Srinagar, June 14:- 23rd Postgraduate Research Presentation (PGRP) programme, which was inaugurated by the Governor Satya Pal Malik on 12th June, concluded on Friday at SKIMS auditorium.
During the event outgoing, Post-doctoral, Doctoral and Postgraduate students of SKIMS Soura, SKIMS Medical College Bemina, GMC Srinagar presented research papers on varied topics. 114 research papers were presented this year and the best research papers from Medicine and allied, Surgery and allied were awarded.
On the occasion Ex-Medical Superintended SKIMS & Dean Dr. G J Qadri was present as Chief Guest.
Director SKIMS, Dr. Omar Javed Shah appreciated presence of G J Qadri and recalled his contributions to SKIMS. Dr. O.J Shah urged young doctors to strive for honesty and be dedicated to profession.
Dr. G J Qadri in his address said that PGRPP is a platform for young doctors to present their research work, which is essential to find better ways of treatment. Every medical institute should have three focus areas which include patient care, teaching and research, he added.
