3 Hizb associates arrested in Budgam: Police

Srinagar, Jul 21:  The Jammu and Kashmir Police along with army and CRPF has arrested three militant associates at a checkpoint in the Pakherpora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday, officials said.

The arrested persons have been identified as Mehraj ud-din Kumar, Tahir Kumar (both residents of Pakherpora) and Sahil Hurra, a resident of Tilsarah.

The police said incriminating materials, arms and ammunition, including 20 live rounds of AK-47, two detonators and 15 posters of Hizbul Mujahideen had been recovered from them.

“All the recovered materials have been taken into the case records to investigate their role and complicity in terror activities,” the police said and added, they were active in the area for the last few months.

“As per the police records, they were involved in providing logistic support and shelter to militants of Hizbul Mujahideen operating in the area,” the police said.

An FIR has been registered and investigation into the case initiated. (IANS)
