Srinagar: Family of the Kashmiri couple detained in Delhi on March 8 say the two are innocent. Jahanzaib Sami Wani, and his wife, Hina Bashir Beg, living in a rented flat in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi, were arrested as police alleged that the couple had links with the Islamic State’s Khorasan Province module.
Back home in Srinagar’s Shivpora area, his family says the two are completely innocent. They lambasted the media for sensationalizing the issue and said it was imperative that the case was handled properly to ensure justice was done with the newly-wed couple.
