Srinagar: Two unidentified militants were killed and a solider was critically injured in an encounter that broke out between militants and armed forces in Zadoora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district between the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, officials said.
 
A senior police official said that two unidentified militants have been killed while as a soldier has been injured in an exchange of fire between government forces and militants in Zadoora Pull area even as the operation is on.

Two militants have been killed whose identity is being ascertained, the official said adding that the soldier was critically injured and has been shifted to 92 base hospital Srinagar for treatment
  
Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
 
He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.

This is the second encounter in less than 24 hrs in south Kashmir as on Friday four militants were killed in a gunfight in Shopian district. (KNO)
