Srinagar: In another deadly attack within three days, two CRPF personnel and a policeman were killed after suspected militants attacked a joint Naka party in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday morning.
A senior police officer said that militants fired a volley of bullets at the naka party. The fire was retaliated by forces triggering a brief exchange of firing.
One SPO identified as Muzaffar Ahmad was killed and two CRPF troopers were injured and subsequently shifted to nearby hospital, the officer said.
The CPRF personnel succumbed to their injuries soon after, he said.
The officer further said that there are chances that an encounter may begin as the militants have been surrounded by forces.
Monday’s attack comes three days after a similar one took place in Nowgam area of Srinagar.
Two police personnel were killed when militants attacked a police party in Nowgam on August 14.
