Thousands attend slain militant’s funeral in Budgam

Srinagar, Sep 28:Thousands of people on Friday attended the funeral prayers of slain militant Sheeraz Ahmad who was killed along with his associate in a gunfight with government forces in Panzan village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday.

The slain militant was a resident of Kralwari Chadoora in Budgam.


According to local sources, thousands of people including men, women and children thronged the ancestral village of slain raising massive pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

Reports said that despite shutdown mourners took shortest possible routes through paddy fields to reach slain militants home to offer condolences to his family.

The funeral prayers of the slain militant was held in the local village after which he was buried in his ancestral graveyard.
