Tariq Abdullah is new NSS Coordinator at KU

Srinagar, July 17: Kashmir University (KU) has appointed Tariq Abdullah as Coordinator of its National Service Scheme (NSS) wing.

A well-known documentary filmmaker and broadcaster, Tariq Abdullah is also Producer at varsity’s Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC).

Prior to his appointment, he has served NSS wing of Kashmir University as programme officer for eight years.

During these years, Abdullah has been instrumental in plantation drives in collaboration with various organisations in various university and college campuses. He has planted around twenty five thousand saplings in different colleges and universities of Kashmir valley.

Abdullah has also organized many blood donation camps and seminars on drug de-addiction and role of youth in eradication of social evils.

In 2017, Abdullah was declared best NSS programme office of Kashmir valley and has been recommended for National award by the state authorities.

With around 500 educational television programmes, documentary films and six MOOCs to his credit, Abdullah has received many national and state awards.

On taking over as NSS Coordinator, Abdullah said the NSS activities would be taken to newer heights. He also assured NSS programme officers and students volunteers the best possible support within the available resources.
