Srinagar resident working in Army goes missing in Jammu, family seeks help

Srinagar: A store keeper of Canteen Store Department (CSD) of Army, who hails from Urdu Bazar area of Srinagar, has gone missing in Jammu district, the family said on Monday.

The family members while talking to the news agency Kashmir News Observer said that Riyaz Ahmad Khan, son of Late Amanullah Khan of Urdu Bazaar Fateh Kadal, who works as store keeper in CSD of Army, is posted in Jammu.

“My brother had gone to a hospital in Bakhshi Nagar area to collect his COVID-19 results,” Parvaiz Ahmad Khan, younger brother of the missing man said.

He added that he was accompanied by his brother-in-law to the hospital, but soon after they reached the hospital; his brother has told his brother-in-law that he will reach office on his own and asked him to leave, but he didn’t return.

Khan said that he talked to him last Thursday at around 10:30 following which his phone was put on divert and all his calls were diverted to his mother’s phone number.

“My brother after leaving home in Srinagar has not joined his duties as he had not collected the COVID-19 test report yet,” he said, adding that they tried to search him everywhere, but couldn’t find him.

“We urge the concerned police station in Jammu to speed up investigation and help us in tracing our beloved,” Khan said.

He also said that the daughter of brother who is missing is scheduled to get married next month. (KNO)
