Srinagar-Jammu highway to remain shut for five more days: Officials

Srinagar: Jammu-Srinagar highway remained closed on Monday and shall continue to be shut for “at least” for five more days, officials said.

Highway has been closed due to the sudden collapsing of the retaining wall of an important bridge at Kela Morh, Ramban.

“Jammu-Srinagar highway is closed due to sudden damage of bridge at Kela Morh, Ramban. It will take at least 05 days to repair the damaged bridge as stated by NHAI,” a traffic department official said.

However, the official said, Jammu-Doda-Kishtwar, Jammu-Ramban, Magerkot- Banihal, and Banihal-Qazigund stretches are through for traffic. “People are requested to take their journey accordingly.”
