Srinagar: The injured Shopian girl, Shobi Jan, is stable and under treatment at the Bones and Joints (B&J) Hospital here.

Shobi, along with three others, received injures on Monday, when the soldiers allegedly opened fire on people at Dradi Kali (DK) Pora, Shopian.

The people, reportedly, tried to spoil the army’s attempt to set up a stall for Iftar.

As per the reports received late on Monday, 34 Rashtriya Rifles went to DK Pora village to raise a stall outside a local mosque.

“Residents had in advance asked the Imam Sahab-based army camp not to go with the plan because the youth were angry,” reports said.

Medical Superintendent (MS), Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital, Dr Saleem Tak, where Shobi was treated first, said she was hit in the shoulder.

“She is stable. She has an injury in her shoulder. We have been treating her. Now, seeing the nature of the injury, we have referred her to B&J hospital for further treatment,” he said.
