Srinagar:  Same test, two different results and the patient’s life goes into a spin!

Questions are being raised on the authenticity of the COVID tests being conducted at the Government Chest Disease Hospital, Srinagar.

Many people including a senior journalist, who were tested positive for COVID19 at Chest Disease hospital laboratory a few days back, tested negative for the virus at SKIMS Soura.

“Yes, I went to SKIMS the other day to be doubly sure whether I am a COVID positive. The results of my samples have come back negative,” the journalist told a local news agency.

Another person, from Srinagar, who was tested positive at CD hospital laboratory, noted that his second test at SKIMS has come back negative. “I had slipped into shock when my test results at CD laboratory came back positive. My family was crying for the whole night. I am a bit after my test came back negative,” he said.

At least two dozen people called the news agency and complained about faulty COVID tests being done at CD hospital laboratory. “See our test reports, we all are negative. The CD laboratory is a faulty one. There should be an inquiry at the highest level,” he said.

Pertinently, Head of the Department at CD hospital Dr. Naved Nazir was also tested positive for the virus recently.

Talking to KNO, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan said that many people have brought the issue of “faulty tests at CD hospital laboratory” to his notice. “I will check and look into the issue as to what exactly is wrong.  We will find out why there are two results at two different places,” Khan said.
