Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate the integrated development project of the Hazratbal shrine from Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium on March 7. Additionally, he will inaugurate the Sonamarg ski drag lift in Ganderbal district.

The Hazratbal shrine, one of Jammu and Kashmir’s most esteemed Muslim shrines, has been developed under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD).

PM Modi will also unveil 42 new tourist destinations and launch nine tourism projects, along with the ‘Chalo India’ campaign, aimed at engaging the Indian diaspora worldwide.

Furthermore, PM Modi will distribute appointment letters to 1,000 job aspirants and engage in virtual interactions with beneficiaries of various schemes at the district level. He is also expected to inaugurate the holistic agriculture development programme during his visit.

A high alert has been sounded across Srinagar, with police, CRPF, and other security agencies ensuring close synergy to make the rally a smooth event. Although the Bakshi Stadium will be open to the general public, security has been intensified across the city.

This visit marks PM Modi’s first to Kashmir since the abrogation of article 370 in August 2019. He last visited Kashmir in February 2019 and recently visited Jammu on February 20, where he inaugurated developmental projects worth Rs 32,000 Crore.
