Srinagar, Jan 20: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Zonal president Amira Kadal Mohammad Ashraf Dar has resigned from the basic membership of the party a day after former minister Syed Altaf Bukhari was expelled for his anti-party activities within the fold.
In his resignation letter addressed to Mehbooba, Dar said the sequel to the disparaging political developments especially the manner with which the party affairs are being run by the PDP leadership, “it has become clear to me that I will not be able to fulfil my party responsibility henceforth, as we would both wish to.”
“During my long association with this party from the year 2000, I witnessed many political phases, wherein this party was trying to prove itself as a viable political alternative for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. But unfortunately the present situation within the party especially after the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, I have come to the conclusion that this party is not following the footsteps of Late Mufti Saheb and the principles for which it was established,” said Dar.
“In light of the above-mentioned facts, I hereby tender resignation from my basic membership and as the Zone President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party JKPDP) for Amirakadal constituency with effect from 20-01-2019,” added Dar.
