Srinagar, Dec 25: National Conference supporters led by former Speaker Mubarak Gul staged a protest against mass killings and continuous use of pellet guns here in Press Enclave Srinagar.

The protesting activists of the party carried placards seeking end to the use of pellet guns in Kashmir Valley.

The protesters shouted slogans and sought end to the bloodshed in Valley.

Mubarak Gul in response to a question said that though pellet guns were brought in Kashmir during NC regime but were never used on protesters. “It has now become a norm in Kashmir to use pellets on protesters and blind them. Killings must stop in Kashmir,” he said.

Gul said that autonomy will always remain the agenda of National Conference. “We will always strive for the restoration of Autonomy in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Gul alleged that old Srinagar city has been ignored by the previous government and present Governor Administration.“There are no colleges and community halls in old Srinagar city. Everywhere the colleges are being set up but old Srinagar city is ignored. We demand that a new college should be set up in Srinagar,” he said.
