Srinagar, Jan 30: The body of a goldsmith from Kalaroose village of Kupwara district, who was murdered last month, was recovered on Tuesday from a river near bye-pass bridge in Sopore town, police said.
It has been an emotional journey for the family of Tariq Ahmad Malik, the deceased, who went missing on December 26, and according to police, was murdered and his body thrown into the river.
The boy was recovered by joint efforts of Police and locals and was later rushed to Sub District Hospital Sopore.
It is pertinent to mention here that Malik was running a jewelry shop in Apple town Sopore before he had gone missing from his shop, however Sopore police earlier this month arrested four accused who had allegedly kidnapped and murdered him and thrown his body into the river.
Meanwhile trade body Sopore appeals Chota Bazaar shopkeepers to register shutdown on Wednesday to mourn the murder of Goldsmith.
