Srinagar: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti mocked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said he sees a better chance of peace talks with India if Narendra Modi wins the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Reacting to the reports of Imran Khan interview, Mehbooba Mufti pointed out the confusion of ‘bhakts’. “Bhakts scratching their heads and at wit ends wondering if they should praise Imran Khan or not,” the PDP president wrote on Twitter.
Khan had said if the next Indian government were led by the opposition Congress party, it might be too scared to seek a settlement with Pakistan over Kashmir. “Perhaps if the BJP — a right-wing party — wins, some kind of settlement in Kashmir could be reached.”
