Srinagar, Nov 9: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik on Friday reiterated his call for boycott of upcoming Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a gathering at Bilal Masjid at The Bund in Srinagar, Malik said the election process has always damaged the Kashmir cause.

“…and these elections have kept the Kashmir dispute away from its settlement. I appeal to all people in this regard to sit in their homes during these (Panchayat elections),” Malik appealed.

He said that the boycott of recent municipal polls and the parliamentary elections of 2017 has “frustrated” New Delhi.

“Empty polling booths during the recent polls was a democratic defeat to India. It showed to world that Kashmir doesn’t want to remain with India,” Malik said.
