Srinagar, Feb 04: Baramulla police on Saturday has arrested a teacher who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor in in Kreeri area of district Baramulla.
The spokesman said a written complaint was received in Police Station Kreeri on 28/1/18 from a student (name withheld )of Madrasa Darul-Hudda, Kreeri Baramulla, who was accompanied by his father to the effect that on 20th December one teacher of the above mentioned seminary (Darulaloom )namely Mufti Hilal Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Nowpora, Jageer, Baramulla called the boy in his room after morning prayers and sexually assaulted him while other students were in masjid at that time taking lessons of Holy Quran.
The said accused teacher according to the complainant closed the door and assaulted the minor boy sexually.
Accordingly a case under FIR No 04/18 under Section 377/506 RPC was registered in Police Station Kreeri, Baramulla and investigation was taken up.
During the course of the investigation, medical formalities were also completed and statements of witnesses were recorded in the police station.
Accused who was evading arrest was finally arrested by police on Saturday.
