Kulgam attack: Former PDP activist succumbs

Srinagar, April 3 : A former PDP activist and a Panch who was injured critically after shot at by suspected militants at Shalipora village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday evening succumbed to injuries.

A senior doctor at SMHS hospital confirmed that the panch Abdul Majeed Dar succumbed to injuries at around 11:15 pm.

His body is being taken by the family to his native village for last rites.

Earlier, the masked gunmen believed to be militants barged inside the house of Abdul Majeed Dar son-in-Law of Ghulam Ahmad Malla and fired upon him at Shalipora village.

According to officials, Majeed was a panch and had contested as an independent candidate after he quit PDP as a party activist.
