Killing of cab driver: SHRC seeks report from Govt

Srinagar, May 29: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has asked the DGP to get the report of the sumo driver who was allegedly killed in army firing at Kakapora Pulwama.

The order came after the complaint  that Sumo Driver, Bilal Ahmed Ganaie was killed by Army after militants attacked army camp at Kakapora Pulwama.

The complainant quoting family members of slain youth as having said, that Bilal died in army firing. He has said that the deceased youth was killed far away from the encounter site.

Taking cognizance of the complaint, Chairman State Human Rights Commission, Justice Bilal Ahmed Nazki issued directions to Jammu Kashmir Police Chief, Chief Secretary and Commissioner Secretary to Department of Home to file a detailed status report about the incident by or before April 27.

During the hearing, Additional Advocate General MM Khan and CPO Mumtaz Saleem were present. (CNS)
