JKSRLM Tangmarg celebrates Women’s Day

Tangmarg, Mar 8:  Jammu Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission Tangmarg today celebrated Women’s Day at Govt High school, Ferozpora.

On the occasion, the women Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Block Tangmarg planted hundreds of saplings amid heavy snowfall

On the occasion Child Development Project Officer(CDPO), Tangmarg Nisar Ahmad Wani interacted with the SHG members and highlighted the importance of women empowerment.

He congratulated the SHG members and appreciated their efforts for coming out in large numbers to plant trees amid snowfall.

Block Program Manager Tangmarg, Madina Bukhari said that Mission Director Rubina Kounser and Additional Mission Director,  Sajid Yehya Naqash envisioned to celebrate women’s day by encouraging each SHG member to plant a tree and take the responsibility of nurturing and protecting that plant.

“This endeavor is a part of social responsibility by the SHG members on this international women’s day and their contribution towards environmental protection,” she said.

In Tangmarg and Kunzer blocks more than 1000 saplings were being planted by the members.

BPM Tangmarg thanked Range officer Gulmarg, Forest Department for participating in the event and making available hundreds of saplings for plantation.

Women’s day was celebrated all across Tangmarg Block and Kunzer block in all the Cluster Level Federations and Village Organizations.
