Srinagar, Jan 24: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has strongly reacted to the issuance of non-bailable warrant against the incarcerated resistance leader and its chairman, Shabir Shah despite his imprisonment in Tihar jail Delhi from July 2017.

In a statement issued here, the party spokesperson said that the family of the jailed Shabir Shah was surprised to receive a non-bailable warrant against the jailed leader from a Jammu court in an old case of 1998.

The JKDFP spokesperson while strongly condemning the issuance of warrant against the jailed leader said that it is “ridiculous” on part of the authorities who have placed Shabir Shah in Tihar jail from July 2017 and issued warrant against him.

Terming it as an act of intimidation, JKDFP Spokesperson said that such imperialistic tactics would not weaken the resolve of the jailed Shabir Shah nor will he stop advocating right to self-determination of the people of Jammu Kashmir.

Terming the act as frustration of the government, the JKDFP Spokesperson said that Shabir Shah has already completed 32years of imprisonment and pressure tactics like issuing of non-bailable warrant against him won’t break his resolve.

Meanwhile, the JKDFP has strongly condemned the Jail authorities at Tihar for trying to break the steadfastness of Shabir Shah and other Kashmiri political prisoners. Every prisoner in Tihar is allowed to meet total ten blood relations but it has been reduced to only four. It is unfortunate that lot of Kashmiri relatives have to return without meeting their jailed relatives after travelling such a long distance.

Meanwhile, JKDFP Spokesperson has paid rich and glowing tributes to Shaheed Shoaib Akhoon of Khanpora, Baramulla Shaheed Mohsin Mushtaq of Qazi Hamam, Baramulla and Shaheed Nisar Darzi of Jamia Mohalla, Baramulla who were martyred by government forces during a gunfight.
