Srinagar:  A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district following a night-long siege.

Following 14-hour-long siege, reports said that the gunfight broke out after the forces approached the spot where the militants were hiding.

On Tuesday evening, the forces had installed high-beam lights to prevent militants from escaping.

A police officer also confirmed that the contact was established with the hiding militants.
