Elderly COVID-19 patient dies at SKIMS Bemina, 6th victim in J&K

Srinagar: An elderly Coronavirus positive patient from Baramulla passed away at a local hospital in Srinagar Saturday morning making him the sixth victim of the ongoing pandemic.

Medical Superintendent SKIMS Bemia Dr Shifa Deva told The Kashmir Monitor that a male patient, 70, hailing from Tangmarg, passed away at the hospital.

“He had tested positive for COVID-19, and suffered from pneumonia,” Dr Deva said.

She added that the patient had a history of hypertension and cardiac issues too.

To mention this is the sixth death due to the virus in J&K. Five of the deaths have taken place in Kashmir.

Earlier, another elderly from Tangmarg had died of the virus.
