COVID19: SMC sanitation workers to get Rs 50 lakh insurance cover

Srinagar, April 09:  Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu on Thursday said that every sanitation worker will now be covered under a “Health Insurance Cover” upto Rs 50 lakh .

“Glad to announce that EVERY #SMC sanitation worker will now be covered under a Health Insurance Cover with a limit of upto 50 LAKH rupees per employee. They deserve this and MORE and we are committed to their welfare, safety and will uphold their service! #Covid19 #Srinagar,” Mattu said in a tweet.

Earlier, in a letter to District development Commissioner, Srinagar, SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu has proposed a 100% school fee waiver for the children of daily wagers.

 “To keep in view the cascading economic impact of the current situation, you are requested to instruct all the private educational institutions in Srinagar to implement a category-wise monthly fee waiver for private school students,” he said.
